Matin Yarmand

Matin Yarmand is an assistant professor of Software and Information Systems at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. His research focuses on Human-Computer Interaction, Educational Technology, and Healthcare. He earned his PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of California, San Diego, where he conducted research under the supervision of Professor Nadir Weibel in the Design Lab. Matin's research aims to support training needs in complex domains, such as healthcare internships and fleet driver development, through the design of AI-driven embedded learning systems and attention-guiding learning tools. His work extends beyond traditional education to encompass various informal learning domains, including skills training in telemedicine and virtual reality.
