Sebastian Cmentowski

Dr. Sebastian Cmentowski is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial Design at Eindhoven University of Technology, specializing in game design and digital twins. His research focuses on using Extended Reality (XR) technologies to address societal challenges, particularly promoting physical activity through exergames. With a background in computer science, human-computer interaction, and virtual reality, Dr. Cmentowski has developed innovative interaction and mobility concepts in virtual environments and explored the embodiment of non-human characters in VR. His doctoral studies centered on improving interactions in virtual environments, and he earned his Ph.D. summa cum laude in 2022 from the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany. He previously worked as an interdisciplinary postdoctoral researcher with the HCI Games Group at the University of Waterloo in Canada and actively contributes to advancing XR applications in academia.
