Bonnie Ruberg

Bo Ruberg is a renowned scholar in video game and queer theory, currently a professor in the Department of Film and Media Studies at the University of California, Irvine, and an affiliate professor in the Department of Informatics. Their research focuses on issues of gender and sexuality in digital media, with a particular emphasis on queer topics in video games. Ruberg is the author of books including Sex Dolls at Sea: Imagined Histories of Sexual Technologies, The Queer Games Avant-Garde, and Video Games Have Always Been Queer. They also serve as co-editor of the academic journal Journal of Cinema and Media Studies.
