David R. Glowacki

David R. Glowacki is an interdisciplinary scientist, artist, and cultural theorist. He is currently a Royal Society Research Fellow, Philip Leverhulme Fellow, and ERC award recipient at the University of Bristol. He founded the Intangible Realities Laboratory (IRL), a lab that bridges chemistry, computer science, psychology, and aesthetics, focusing on the development and application of open-source computational methods for scientific research. Glowacki's research spans virtual reality and psychology, particularly in simulating mystical experiences (MTEs) in multi-user VR environments and exploring their potential as therapeutic tools. His digital art has been exhibited to audiences of more than 200,000 across three continents and has received widespread attention in both scientific and cultural communities.
