Dina Sabie

Dina Sabie is a scholar specializing in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Social Computing, currently serving as a professor and program coordinator for Humber College's Game Programming Program in Canada. She holds dual bachelor's degrees in Computer Science and Architecture (Design focus), a Master’s in Architecture, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science, all from the University of Toronto. Her research is dedicated to leveraging technology to help refugees integrate into new communities more efficiently, with a focus on emotional resilience and the preservation of cultural heritage. As an Iraqi-Canadian, Dina brings extensive practical experience in refugee resettlement and technology design. Her work includes developing Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) technologies to foster cross-cultural understanding and enhance the quality of life for immigrants.
