Sonia Chiasson

Sonia Chiasson is a professor in the School of Computer Science at Carleton University, co-director of the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) program, and head of Canada’s "CHORUS" (Collaborative Human-Oriented Research in Usable Security) lab. Her research focuses on the intersection of human-computer interaction and cybersecurity, aiming to develop more user-friendly and secure authentication systems and educational tools to help users, especially children, enhance their cybersecurity awareness and skills. She serves as the Associate Scientific Director of the Canadian SERENE-RISC network and was the project leader for the "Human Behavior and Computer Security" initiative under the NSERC ISSNet program. Sonia Chiasson has also made substantial contributions to promoting diversity and inclusion in the field of cybersecurity and developed the APRISE framework to enhance user security and privacy experiences.
