Aleksandra Sarcevic

Dr. Aleksandra Sarcevic is a professor in the Department of Information Science at Drexel University's College of Computing and Informatics. Her research focuses on Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW), Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), and Health Informatics. She is particularly interested in studying interaction and communication patterns in large collaborative teams within high-risk environments, especially the information and collaboration behaviors of trauma teams during the treatment of severely injured patients. Dr. Sarcevic also serves as the director of Drexel University's Interactive Systems for Healthcare (IS4H) research lab. She is a respected scholar in her field and has received multiple research grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Science Foundation (NSF), including the prestigious NSF CAREER award in 2013.

  • Lead the IS4H research lab, focusing on the development and study of interactive information display systems to support healthcare teams, exploring how to present context-specific information to facilitate team collaboration while considering perceptual and cognitive limitations of team members.
  • Undertook and led several NIH- and NSF-funded projects, including the development of a video-based personal protective equipment monitoring system and the automated capture and analysis of trauma resuscitation workflows.
