David T. Lee

David Timothy Lee is an Associate Professor in the Computational Media Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and serves as the Baskin School of Engineering's inaugural Director for Research Pathways. He is the founder and director of the Tech4Good Laboratory, focusing on designing AI ecosystems for education, work, and community engagement. His research encompasses social computing, human-computer interaction, future education and work, participatory democracy, and human-machine collaboration. His work has been published in top journals such as Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) and has earned accolades at conferences including AAAI HCOMP, ACM CHI, and ACM CSCW.
