Eunkyung Jo

Eunkyung Jo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and the Graduate School of Artificial Intelligence at POSTECH (Pohang University of Science and Technology). She is the founder of the Health and Human-Computer Interaction (H2CI) Lab. Her research explores how HCI technologies can address the infrastructural complexities of clinical and public health surveillance. Jo employs methodologies such as interviews and surveys to analyze user behavior with existing technologies, prototypes to investigate new design directions, and in-situ deployment to evaluate these designs. Her work received the Best Paper Award at CHI 2023 and was supported by a Google PhD Fellowship (2023-2025). Her research has also been featured in media outlets such as the Los Angeles Times and the Digital Chosun Ilbo. She holds a Ph.D. in Informatics from the University of California, Irvine, an M.S. in Computer Graphics Technology from Purdue University, and a B.S. in Information Science and Culture from Seoul National University.
