Pattie Maes

Pattie Maes is the Germeshausen Professor of Media Arts and Sciences at the MIT Media Lab and the head of the Fluid Interfaces research group. As a Belgian scientist, she has had a profound impact on the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Human-Computer Interaction, particularly through her groundbreaking work on software agents. Her research focuses on enhancing human cognitive abilities using technology, encompassing areas such as memory, learning, decision-making, and health. Professor Maes has published numerous academic books and over 500 peer-reviewed papers, and she has received multiple international awards, including the ACM SIGCHI Lifetime Achievement Award.
