Azza Abouzied

Azza Abouzied is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at New York University Abu Dhabi and a Global Network Associate Professor at NYU Tandon School of Engineering. Her research spans the intersection of database systems and human-computer interaction, focusing on designing intuitive data query tools to assist users in exploring and decision-making with complex data. Her work integrates user interface design, machine learning, and database technologies, resulting in numerous innovative query tools, such as example-driven query methods. Azza holds a PhD from Yale University and spent a year as a visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley. Additionally, she is a co-founder of the big data analytics platform Hadapt and has received several awards for her pioneering research in database systems, including the 2019 VLDB Test of Time Award.
