Mikhaila Friske

Mikhaila Friske is a PhD student in Information Science at the University of Colorado Boulder, within the College of Media, Communication and Information. Her research focuses on smart textiles, textile design software, and the intersection of technology and craft, particularly exploring how technology can empower vulnerable communities. As a member of the Unstable Design Lab, she works on developing next-generation rapid prototyping tools for smart textiles and investigates data storytelling through yarn and sound. Her academic work includes papers published in top-tier conferences such as ACM CHI and DIS, frequently recognized with honorable mentions for Best Paper.
