Chris Preist

Professor Chris Preist is a Professor of Sustainability and Computer Systems at the Department of Computer Science, University of Bristol. He also serves as the University Academic Director for Sustainability at Bristol’s Institute for Learning and Teaching. His research focuses on the environmental sustainability impacts of digital technology, particularly the influence of user behavior on energy and resource consumption. He employs lifecycle assessment techniques to analyze end-to-end impacts of digital products and services and explores the interactions between technological innovation, business models, and sustainability. He is also involved in promoting community engagement with environmental and social sustainability issues through social computing and mobile technologies.
