Andrew Petersen

Andrew Petersen is a teaching stream professor in the Department of Mathematical and Computational Sciences at the University of Toronto Mississauga campus, as well as an associate position at the University’s Teaching Research Institute. He has been teaching at the Mississauga campus since 2007 and has held several administrative roles, including Director of the Centre for Teaching and Learning Support and Innovation and Acting Vice-Dean. He has extensive research experience in computer science education, with a particular focus on programming education and student performance analysis. He has led or participated in several international computer science education conferences, including serving as chair for ICER and Koli Calling, and has played a key role in the computer science education research group at the University of Toronto. He has received numerous teaching awards, including the University of Toronto President’s Teaching Award and the OCUFA Teaching Award.
