James R. Wallace

James Wallace is an Associate Professor in the School of Public Health Sciences at the University of Waterloo and holds a cross-appointment in the Cheriton School of Computer Science. His research focuses on the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW), and Information Visualization, particularly in applications of health informatics. Dr. Wallace is dedicated to designing and evaluating systems that help people better understand and interact with health data to improve health decision-making and services. His research interests span multi-display environments, collaborative support technologies, and employing gamification techniques to promote healthy behaviors (such as food literacy). His work has been published in top-tier HCI conferences and has made a positive impact on the practical application of health technologies.
