Naoki Kimura

Naoki KIMURA is a Ph.D. student in Applied Computer Science at the University of Tokyo, under the supervision of Professors Jun Rekimoto and Thad Starner. His research focuses on applying machine learning to the field of human-computer interaction, with a particular emphasis on silent speech interaction and enhancing immersive experiences. He has led the development of several innovative projects, including SottoVoce, which utilizes ultrasonic imaging, and SilentSpeller, designed specifically for mobile contexts. He has published multiple papers at prestigious conferences such as CHI and has received two Best Paper Honorable Mention Awards. Due to his outstanding research contributions, he has been recognized with accolades like the Google AI Ph.D. Fellowship and the Microsoft Research Asia Fellowship, establishing himself as a notable young researcher in the fields of wearable computing and silent interaction.
