Ross K. Meetenmeyer

Ross K. Meentemeyer is the Goodnight Distinguished Professor and Director of the Center for Geospatial Analytics at North Carolina State University (NC State). He is a leading expert in geospatial analysis and landscape ecology, focusing on developing and applying spatial models to predict and address ecological challenges, with a particular emphasis on the spread and control of emerging plant diseases (e.g., Sudden Oak Death) and tradeoff analyses related to future urbanization and environmental changes. Professor Meentemeyer is well-known for his innovative decision-support tools, such as tangible user interfaces for collaborative management strategy development. A prolific scholar, he has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles, secured more than $15 million in research funding, and served in leadership roles within his professional field, including as President of the US International Association for Landscape Ecology.
