Volker Wulf

Volker Wulf is a renowned German scholar in the field of business informatics. Since 2002, he has served as a professor of business informatics and new media at the University of Siegen while leading a research group at Fraunhofer FIT. He is one of the pioneers of the Socio-Informatics field, focusing on advancing the social application of information technology through user-centered research and design. His research spans areas such as Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW), Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), knowledge management, ubiquitous computing, and Participatory Design (PD). He has conducted extensive studies on customizable software architectures for end users.

He has published approximately 350 papers in top international academic journals and conferences and authored several influential academic books in related fields. Wulf is a member of the CHI Academy and the Leibniz-Sozietät. He also served as the president of the European Society for Socially Embedded Technologies (EUSSET).
