Nouran Soliman

Nouran Soliman is a PhD candidate at the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) at MIT, affiliated with the Haystack research group under the guidance of Professor David Karger. Her research focuses on the intersection of human-computer interaction, social computing, and artificial intelligence, investigating issues related to safety, trust, and credibility in online communities. Her work includes designing and testing innovative computational systems, such as proposing the "meronymity" model, which offers a new paradigm for online identity disclosure. Soliman's research aims to address harassment, misinformation, and societal barriers in online communities while exploring ways to support inclusive public discussions. Her contributions have earned her the CHI 2024 Best Paper Award. Looking ahead, she hopes to further pursue research that improves human lives and considers a career in academia.
