Elisabeth André

Elisabeth André is a full professor in Computer Science at Augsburg University in Germany and holds the founding chair for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence. She has an extensive research record in multimodal human-computer interaction, embodied conversational agents, social robots, affective computing, and social signal processing. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the 2021 "Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize," the highest accolade in German research, awarded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). She was honored with EurAI fellowship in 2013 for her contributions to artificial intelligence technology and human-computer interaction. In 2019, Germany's Society for Informatics named her one of the ten most influential people in the history of German artificial intelligence. Elisabeth André has also been elected to multiple academic institutions, including the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities, Academia Europaea, and the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina.
