Daniela Rosner

Daniela Rosner is a professor in the Department of Human Centered Design & Engineering at the University of Washington. Her research explores the social, political, and material contexts of technological development, with a particular focus on the histories of marginalized practices, such as maintenance and needlecraft. Her work has received numerous awards from the National Science Foundation, including the NSF CAREER award. With extensive experience in design research, Rosner has worked at institutions such as Microsoft Research, Adobe Systems, and Nokia Research, as well as serving as an exhibition designer for organizations like Adler Planetarium and Astronomy Museum. She is the author of books such as Critical Fabulations, which examines how design history can help reimagine the relationship between technology and social responsibility. She also serves as the "Design as Inquiry" forum editor for Interactions Magazine and is a member of the editorial board for Artifact: Journal of Design Practice.
