Tamanna Motahar

Dr. Tamanna Motahar is an Assistant Professor in the School of Computing and Informatics at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, holding the Patrick Clark Endowed Professorship. Her research focuses on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and accessibility technologies, aiming to design and develop assistive technologies for vulnerable populations with severe motor disabilities. Her work involves technology adoption, supporting self-care behaviors for individuals with disabilities, and fostering design empathy in HCI education. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Utah's Personal Data and Empowerment Lab (PeDEL) and was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Washington's CREATE Center. Her research has been published in top-tier venues such as ACM CHI and IMWUT, receiving several Honorable Mention awards for Best Papers. Her work seeks to design more inclusive technological solutions for complex disability groups using user-centered design approaches.
