Edward Jay Wang

Edward Jay Wang (Wang Jie) is a tenured professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Design Lab at the University of California, San Diego, where he also holds the Jacobs Chair in Entrepreneurship. He leads the UCSD Digital Health Technology Lab, focused on developing point-of-care medical technologies that enable medical-grade physiological sensing via mobile and wearable devices. His research involves innovating sensing solutions to address health monitoring challenges in resource-limited environments and introducing user-centered design methods to ensure broad application of the technologies. His work has led to the establishment of two digital health companies, the publication of 39 papers in top-tier academic journals, and multiple paper awards. His research areas include signal processing, ubiquitous computing, machine learning, biosensors, and user-centered design.
