Shan Lu

Shan Lu is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Chicago. Her research focuses on software reliability, specifically in detecting, diagnosing, and repairing concurrency and performance bugs in large software systems. She received her PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2008 and served as a Clare Boothe Luce Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2009-2014). Shan Lu is an ACM Distinguished Member (2019), and she has received accolades such as the Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship (2014) and the NSF Career Award (2010). Her research has been widely recognized, with multiple papers honored as Google Scholar Classic Papers and Best Paper Awards from ACM and USENIX. She is currently the Chair of ACM-SIGOPS and actively participates on technical committees for a range of top-tier conferences.
