Sarah Homewood

Sarah Homewood is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Copenhagen, specializing in research within the fields of interaction design and human-computer interaction. Her main research focuses on body tracking technologies, exploring how the design of technologies reflects societal understandings of the body and how these technologies fundamentally reshape our experiences of the body. She employs research-through-design methodologies, creating physical prototypes to explore future possibilities. Additionally, her research is deeply influenced by feminist and phenomenological theories. Prior to working in human-computer interaction, Sarah was a contemporary dancer, providing her with a unique perspective on body studies and methods of self-experience. Her research spans topics such as fertility tracking, menstrual cycle tracking, gut health, and wearable technologies.
