Annalu Waller

Annalu Waller is a Professor of Computer Science and a leader in the field of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), currently based at the University of Dundee in Scotland. Her research focuses on using technology to support the communication needs of individuals with disabilities, particularly children and individuals with complex communication needs. Born in South Africa with cerebral palsy, Professor Waller has overcome significant challenges through her resilience and passion for technology, establishing herself as a prominent scholar in the Human-Computer Interaction field. She has been awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) and an Honorary Fellowship from the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, recognizing her outstanding contributions to assistive technology and the field of complex communication needs.
