Florian Mueller

Florian “Floyd” Mueller (also Florian Müller and Florian Mueller) is a researcher and educator in human-computer interaction, interaction design, computer science, and game and play design. He is Professor of Future Interfaces in Monash University’s Department of Human Centred Computing and directs the Exertion Games Lab. The lab investigates exertion games and bodily interaction, placing the human body at the centre of interactive experiences and examining the relationship between technology, play, and an active life. Before Monash, Mueller worked at RMIT University, the University of Melbourne, and Australia’s CSIRO. He was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Stanford University and held research roles or collaborations involving Microsoft Research Asia, the MIT Media Lab, Media Lab Europe, Fuji-Xerox Palo Alto Laboratories, and Xerox PARC.
