Foad Hamidi

Foad Hamidi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Systems at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). His research focuses on the field of Human-Computer Interaction, particularly creating and evaluating emerging systems for diverse user groups—both children and adults, with and without disabilities—through participatory design approaches. His work involves the design and evaluation of Digital BioMedia Systems and adaptive technologies, striving to develop more inclusive and accessible technological solutions. He is passionate about designing inclusive and sustainable maker processes, tools, and projects to serve diverse communities and actively promotes interdisciplinary and cross-cultural collaborative research, conducting projects in countries such as Kenya and Bhutan.
