Jean-Daniel Fekete

Jean-Daniel Fekete is a French computer scientist specializing in Information Visualization, Human-Computer Interaction, and Visual Analytics. He obtained his Ph.D. from Paris-Saclay University in 1996 and earned his habilitation in 2005. He is currently a scientific leader at INRIA, heading the Aviz team, which focuses on researching and developing advanced visualization tools and techniques. As the developer of the Infovis Toolkit and Obvious, his work has advanced the design of information visualization tools. His research spans areas including network visualization, large-scale data analysis, and data physicalization, with numerous impactful publications. He has served as chair for multiple international conferences and received prestigious honors such as the ACM CHI Academy award and the IEEE VGTC Technical Achievement Award.
