Jake M. Hofman

Jake Hofman is a Senior Principal Researcher at Microsoft Research in New York, specializing in computational social science. His research focuses on applying statistical and machine learning methods to large-scale social data to understand and predict complex phenomena in social systems. Before joining Microsoft, he worked at Yahoo! Research. Hofman holds a PhD in Physics from Columbia University and is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor in Columbia University's Department of Applied Mathematics, actively engaged in teaching and talent development. Additionally, he oversees the Microsoft Research Data Science Summer School, which aims to promote diversity in the field of computer science.
